The Concession Golf Club
GMS was hired in 2010 to provide marketing and public relations services for The Concession Golf Club in Sarasota, FL.
Golf Digest named the Concession Club "Best New Private Course" in 2006, but due to a vicious economy & some missteps by the original developer, new membership sales and club revenues were suffering. Under new ownership and management, GMS was engaged to execute a PR & marketing plan to elevate the Concession's image, visibility and course ranking along with driving new member sales, tournaments and events for this ultra-luxury private club.
GMS designed a creative, imaginative and integrated marketing and PR plan that allowed the Concession to achieve its goals within a modest, fiscally responsible, budget given the tough economic times. The results have been remarkable.
The Concession sold 15 new full golf memberships at $75,000 to $125,000 and upgraded 5 golf memberships at $70,000. These resulted in net new membership deposits of $1,733,000, an increase of 360% over 2008 and 370% over 2009. Total golf memberships increased by 20% in 2010, which is significant not only given the economic environment, but the bold move of Concession's owner to increase its full golf membership from $100,000 to $125,000.
